The 3 guys I have had to my Equestrian Centre over the last week have all been really nice people. We have a dog with nervous aggression here that I always make sure is muzzled & out way when different people come on to yard.Unfortunately the 1st guy gave me no prior warning & didn’t know was meant to but I think I just assumed when told turn around was 10-14 days when initially made booking that someone would call on day coming.Although it was bit manic on arrival he was really nice & didn’t make big deal over grumpy dog.🤣I have since had another 2 guys out & both have rung before hand so could put him away.Thanx guys.Good service.xPosted on Google![]()

It's hard to get excited about a boring necessity like emptying a septic tank, but I have to say the people at the end of the telephone and the driver at the end of the nozzle are always helpful and friendly. Thank you!Posted on Google![]()

Fantastic service from Martin when our septic tank was emptied this week. He was friendly (despite the appalling weather !}, considerate and very tidy - all much appreciated given that our tank is at the end of our neighbours garden and requires access through their property. 5 stars ! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Posted on Google![]()

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Septic Tank Emptying Services
How often should a septic tank or cesspit be emptied?
British Water and the Environment Agency recommends that you empty your tank annually or in line with the manufacturers guidelines . Some systems may need more frequent emptying depending on:
- Tank size
- Number of people in the household
- Volume of wastewater produced
Our operators will advise you on the right emptying schedule during our first visit.
However, if any issues arise between emptying, CSG is here to help you with the maintenance and repair of your sewage tank.
What happens if your sewage system isn’t emptied regularly?
Failing to empty your septic tank, cesspit or sewage treatment plant can lead to serious (and expensive) issues, including:
- Leaks or pooling water around the drainage field
- Slow-draining sinks and toilets
- Unpleasant odours near the tank or garden
- Excessive plant or grass growth above the tank
- Sludge or scum discharging into nearby watercourses
- Damage to the soakaway caused by solid waste
Not only are you at risk of the issues above, but it is also a legal requirement to maintain and empty your sewage system regularly to prevent pollution and system failure.
How much does septic tank emptying cost?
The cost of your sewage emptying service depends on your location and the volume of waste you need us to collect. You can get an instant quote in seconds by clicking here.
Do I need to be present during the collection?
No. As long as our drivers can safely access your tank, you don’t need to be present.
How long does septic tank emptying take?
Most collections are completed within 30-60 minutes, depending on tank size and access.
What happens to the waste after collection?
Wherever possible, we transport sewage waste to one of CSG’s licensed sewage treatment facilities for safe and responsible processing. Where a CSG facility is not available locally, the waste is taken to an appropriately licensed treatment facility in the area, in line with environmental regulations.
Is a septic tank completely emptied during an emptying service?
Although commonly called septic tank emptying, the service is more accurately described as desludging. We remove the accumulated sludge, solids and other settled material from the appropriate parts of the system so it can continue operating effectively.
The system may not be left completely dry. The precise process depends on the type, design and condition of the system, as well as any relevant manufacturer’s guidance.
This differs from a cesspit, which is a sealed holding tank that stores wastewater rather than treating it and therefore requires its contents to be emptied regularly.
Is there a difference between emptying a septic tank and a sewage treatment plant?
Although commonly described as “emptying”, septic tanks and sewage treatment plants are normally desludged rather than completely emptied. In both cases, our tanker removes the accumulated sludge that could otherwise reduce the system’s capacity or affect its performance.
A cesspit is different because it is a sealed holding tank that does not treat or discharge wastewater. Its contents must therefore be fully emptied when it approaches capacity.
When booking, please tell us which type of system you have so we can arrange the correct service and advise how frequently it should be desludged or emptied.
