How Does Our Sludge Removal Service Work?

Silts and sludges can cause blockages in drainage systems and storage tanks, so keeping on top of it is key to maintaining safe, efficient equipment and processes.

We use innovative sludge removal technology, such as dewatering centrifuge technology to treat the water and separate the sludge, our very own sonar solutions to survey tanks and lagoons, plus our amphibious ‘dredgers’ to agitate these large banks of sludge to aid the removal process.

Frequently Asked Questions About Industrial Sludge Removal

Do you remove both silt and sludge?

Yes. Subject to assessment and acceptance, we can support the removal of both sludge and silt waste streams from a wide range of commercial and industrial environments.

Yes. We operate specialist tanker equipment suitable for certain thicker or more difficult sludge materials, such as dewatering technology, where appropriate.

We regularly support sludge removal works in restricted-access and operationally challenging environments. As a first step, we’ll assess your site’s access requirements to determine the best equipment and approach.

In some cases, yes. Depending on the site setup and waste characteristics, we may be able to use specialist equipment designed to support waste removal without requiring direct manned entry. Again, this is subject to a site assessment – please let us know about any specific access requirements when you reach out to arrange sludge removal.

To help us provide an accurate quotation, we’ll usually need:

  • Estimated sludge volumes
  • The type of sludge if known
  • Site location and access details
  • Tank, pit or lagoon dimensions where relevant
  • Whether the sludge is pumpable or heavily compacted
  • Any contamination or hazardous characteristics
  • Site operating hours or restrictions

If you’re not sure on any of the above, reach out to our team and we can point you in the right direction and answer any queries.

Yes. Where required, we can use jetting, cleaning and waste mobilisation to improve access and removal efficiency.

Minimum charges may apply. Due to the high levels of technology and processes involved, this service is designed primarily for industrial and commercial waste producers, rather than domestic septic waste removal.

Yes. We can arrange waste sampling and classification support where required to help confirm the waste profile, support compliant routing and provide accurate pricing.

Once we’ve removed the sludge from your site, we transport it to a licensed treatment, recovery or disposal facility (depending on its composition). We aim to treat and recover waste wherever possible.
