Efficient repairs

Our service vans carry a comprehensive range of parts, so where possible, we aim to diagnose and repair faults during the same visit.

Trusted, accredited, transparent

After every visit, you receive digital documentation including inspection results, electrical test readings and condition reports.

Complete Sewage Treatment Plant Maintenance

We provide routine servicing, preventative maintenance, emergency repairs and system upgrades for:

  • Sewage treatment plants (all manufacturers)
  • Pump stations

Our engineering repair service covers sewage treatment plants and pump stations. We do not repair septic tanks or drainage fields, although we can help arrange an appropriate specialist assessment where the cause of a problem falls outside our service scope.

The 3 guys I have had to my Equestrian Centre over the last week have all been really nice people. We have a dog with nervous aggression here that I always make sure is muzzled & out way when different people come on to yard.Unfortunately the 1st guy gave me no prior warning & didn’t know was meant to but I think I just assumed when told turn around was 10-14 days when initially made booking that someone would call on day coming.Although it was bit manic on arrival he was really nice & didn’t make big deal over grumpy dog.🤣I have since had another 2 guys out & both have rung before hand so could put him away.Thanx guys.Good service.x

It's hard to get excited about a boring necessity like emptying a septic tank, but I have to say the people at the end of the telephone and the driver at the end of the nozzle are always helpful and friendly. Thank you!

Fantastic service from Martin when our septic tank was emptied this week. He was friendly (despite the appalling weather !}, considerate and very tidy - all much appreciated given that our tank is at the end of our neighbours garden and requires access through their property. 5 stars ! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Septic Tank Maintenance & Repair Services

How often should a sewage treatment plant or pump station be serviced?

The appropriate service frequency depends on the equipment, manufacturer’s guidance, system size and level of use. Many domestic sewage treatment plants require annual servicing, while commercial, shared or heavily used systems may need more frequent attention.

Pump station maintenance should be planned according to usage, equipment configuration and the consequences of a failure. If you provide the make, model and site details, our team can recommend an appropriate servicing schedule.

Warning signs can include:

  • An activated alarm, warning light or error code
  • A pump or blower that has stopped operating
  • High-level warnings within a pump station
  • Repeated electrical tripping
  • Unusual mechanical noises
  • Persistent or unusually strong odours
  • Reduced sewage treatment performance
  • Faults that repeatedly return after resetting the system

Contact our team if you notice any of these symptoms. Providing the equipment make, model, and any displayed fault code can help us prepare for the visit.

Our engineers inspect the accessible mechanical and electrical components of the system. Depending on the equipment, this may include pumps, blowers, float switches, alarms, control equipment and other operational components.

We can also complete relevant electrical readings and performance checks and provide digital documentation covering the condition of the system and any recommended work. Emptying or cleaning is a separate service and will be confirmed if required.

We service sewage treatment plants and pump stations from a broad range of manufacturers, covering small domestic units through to larger commercial and multi-property systems.

Providing the manufacturer, model and any available equipment information when booking helps us confirm the appropriate engineer and likely parts requirements.

We provide nationwide coverage and emergency response support. Our service vehicles carry a range of commonly required parts, allowing many faults to be repaired during the initial visit where possible.

Repair times depend on the cause of the fault, equipment type, parts availability, site access and whether the system must be emptied or made safe before work can begin. If a further visit is required, we will explain the recommended work and next steps.

Emptying or desludging removes accumulated sludge or wastewater from a tank, treatment plant or pump station. Servicing inspects and maintains the mechanical and electrical equipment that keeps a sewage treatment plant or pump station operating.

A sewage treatment plant may require both regular emptying and engineering servicing. Pump stations may also need to be emptied or cleaned before certain components can be accessed safely.

Septic tanks and cesspits require routine emptying, but they are not covered by our mechanical and electrical repair service.

Our repair and refurbishment service focuses on sewage treatment plants and pump stations. Depending on the system and diagnosis, this may include pumps, blowers, float switches, alarms, control equipment and other mechanical or electrical components.

We do not carry out structural repairs to septic tanks or repairs to drainage fields. We can empty septic tanks and help arrange an appropriate specialist assessment where further investigation is needed.

If a sewage system is beyond economical repair or requires complete replacement, Hutchinson Environmental Solutions, part of the CSG Group, can provide specialist design and installation support.

CSG does not carry out formal pre-purchase, pre-sale or compliance surveys and cannot issue compliance certification. However, we can help you arrange an assessment with an appropriate specialist.

These surveys may be helpful when buying or selling a property, investigating concerns about an existing off-mains sewage system or checking whether further work may be required. The appointed surveyor will determine the scope of the inspection and provide any formal findings relating to condition or compliance.

If the survey identifies a problem, CSG may be able to assist with:

  • Emptying septic tanks, cesspits or sewage treatment plants
  • Repairing or refurbishing sewage treatment plants
  • Repairing or refurbishing pump stations
  • Arranging replacement-system support through Hutchinson Environmental Solutions

The appropriate next step will depend on the type of system and the findings within the survey report.
