CSG’s Sewage Treatment Facilities

CSG operates dedicated sewage treatment centres at Botley in Hampshire, Aylesford in Kent and Worcester in Worcestershire. Supporting homes and businesses that are not connected to mains drainage, our facilities provide additional wastewater treatment capacity and recover suitable sewage solids for use as agricultural fertiliser.

Unlike collection-only providers, we manage waste through our own infrastructure where possible so you get greater control and full transparency over where your waste is taken and how it’s treated. Our facilities support commercial and domestic one-off collections, scheduled servicing, and complex multi-site waste management programmes.

We provide reliable septic tank services to homes across the UK, helping customers stay compliant, avoid breakdowns and keep their systems running smoothly.

THE EXPERTISE BEHIND THE PROCESS

Responsible Treatment Beyond Your Tank

When your septic tank, cesspit or sewage treatment plant is emptied, collection is only part of the service. The waste also needs to be transported to a licensed facility for treatment.

Our treatment centres at Botley, Aylesford and Worcester add capacity for off-mains communities in Hampshire, Kent and surrounding areas.

Botley Treatment Centre — Hampshire

Additional capacity for over 8,000 off-mains households each year.

Our Botley treatment centre provides wastewater treatment capacity for households, hotels and holiday parks in Hampshire and beyond. Developed to help ease pressure on regional treatment infrastructure, the facility supports communities that rely on septic tanks and cesspits rather than mains drainage.

Centrifuge technology separates wastewater from solids, which are processed into treated biosolids for agricultural use. This creates a useful fertiliser resource from material that would otherwise be managed as waste.

Botley holds Biosolids Assurance Scheme certification, allowing its biosolids to be used on farms growing crops to Red Tractor standards. Testing and regular audits support the quality and ongoing compliance of the material supplied.

Additional capacity for over 8,000 off-mains households each year.

Located on Forstal Road, our Aylesford treatment centre provides additional wastewater capacity for Kent and surrounding areas. It supports properties using septic tanks, cesspits and private sewage treatment plants, providing another treatment option for communities that are not connected to mains drainage.

The facility uses centrifuge technology to separate wastewater from solids, which are processed into an enhanced treated cake for agricultural use.

Aylesford is the second CSG treatment centre to achieve Biosolids Assurance Scheme certification. Its biosolids can be used to fertilise crops grown to Red Tractor standards, providing local farmers with an alternative to chemical fertilisers while keeping useful resources in circulation.

Additional capacity for over 8,000 off-mains households each year.

Supporting off-mains communities across the Midlands. Our Worcester treatment centre provides regional wastewater treatment capacity for households and businesses that are not connected to mains drainage. Its central location supports collections across Worcestershire and surrounding parts of the Midlands.

The facility receives sewage from septic tanks, cesspits and private sewage treatment plants. Collected waste is managed through controlled treatment processes, separating different fractions so they can follow an appropriate treatment or recovery route.

Worcester strengthens our wider treatment network, providing an additional regional option for domestic properties, rural businesses and commercial sites across central England.

FROM WASTE TO RESOURCE

What Happens to Your Sewage After Collection?

See how we separate and treat sewage, recovering suitable solids for use as agricultural fertiliser.

1. Collection & Reception

After your septic tank, cesspit or private sewage treatment plant is emptied, the collected sewage is transported to an appropriate treatment facility. On arrival, loads are received and checked before entering the treatment process.

The wastewater then moves into the treatment process, where centrifuge technology is used to separate the liquid from the solid material. This reduces the water content and creates a more concentrated solid material that can undergo further treatment. At our Aylesford facility, this process forms part of turning suitable sewage solids into a useful agricultural resource.

The separated solids are treated further to produce biosolids in a form suitable for onward agricultural use. Treatment helps prepare the material for safe handling, transport and recovery, rather than simply treating it as a waste requiring disposal.

Before suitable biosolids are supplied for agricultural use, they are tested to make sure they meet the required standards. Our Aylesford and Botley treatment centres are certified under the Biosolids Assurance Scheme, with regular testing and audits supporting quality and ongoing compliance. The resulting material can then be used as an alternative to chemical fertilisers, helping return valuable nutrients to agricultural land.

Turning Sewage Into a Useful Resource.

Treating sewage is not only about disposal. At Botley and Aylesford, suitable sewage solids are processed into biosolids that can be used as agricultural fertiliser.

Returning this treated material to farmland helps keep resources in use and provides farmers with an alternative to chemical fertilisers.

BAS-Certified at Both Facilities

Our Botley and Aylesford treatment centres hold Biosolids Assurance Scheme certification.

The scheme includes biosolids testing and regular audits, providing assurance over the quality of material supplied for agricultural use, including on farms growing crops to Red Tractor standards.
