Forecourt Cleaning Services
Forecourts experience constant vehicle movements, fuel handling activities and exposure to the elements, all of which can lead to the build-up of dirt, oil, fuel residues and debris over time. Left unmanaged, this can affect site appearance, create slip hazards and impact the performance of drainage and interceptor systems.
At CSG, we provide nationwide forecourt cleaning services for petrol stations, forecourt retailers, fleet operators and mobility sites, helping businesses maintain clean, safe and professional environments for customers, employees and contractors.

From Forecourt Cleaning to Responsible Waste Treatment
Forecourt cleaning can produce oily wastewater containing silt, dirt and other residues. CSG can collect this waste alongside material removed from gullies and interceptors, providing a joined-up route from cleaning through to treatment.
At an appropriate oil treatment plant, the oil is separated from the water through gravity treatment and recovered where suitable. The remaining water is treated to reduce COD, metals and other contamination, while silt and solids are managed through an appropriate authorised route.
- Forecourt wash water and interceptor waste managed together
- Suitable oil separated and sent for reprocessing
- Contaminated water treated through specialist processes
- Silt, grit and debris routed appropriately
Highly flammable fuel cannot be treated through our oil treatment plants and must be sent through an alternative approved disposal route.

Frequently Asked Questions About Forecourt Cleaning
What does a forecourt cleaning service from CSG include?
The scope of work will depend on your site’s requirements, but services might include forecourt surface cleaning, gully cleaning, drainage maintenance, canopy cleaning, wash bay cleaning, fuel and interceptor cleaning, and waste removal where required.
Do you provide interceptor cleaning as part of forecourt services?
Yes. We can provide interceptor cleaning, emptying and maintenance services alongside forecourt cleaning works where required. This means you can manage multiple maintenance requirements through a single supplier.
How often should a forecourt be professionally cleaned?
The ideal cleaning frequency will depend on factors such as site traffic levels, vehicle movements, weather exposure and operational activities.
Some sites benefit from scheduled maintenance programmes, while others may require periodic deep cleaning or reactive support.
What are the benefits of regular forecourt cleaning?
Regular cleaning can help:
- Maintain a professional appearance
- Improve customer experience
- Reduce slip risks from contaminants
- Support effective drainage performance
- Help identify maintenance issues before they become larger problems
- Extend the lifespan of site infrastructure
Do you offer planned servicing as well as one-off cleans?
Yes. We can provide both scheduled maintenance programmes and one-off cleaning projects depending on your site’s requirements.
Our interceptor alarm is going off - what should we do?
An interceptor alarm may indicate a build-up of waste, a maintenance issue or another operational concern. Get in touch with our team and we’ll assess the situation and advise on the most appropriate next steps – which could be cleaning, maintenance or inspection.
Can you work overnight or outside trading hours?
We understand that forecourts often operate extended hours and busy trading periods, so we’ll always look to work around your operational requirements where practical.
Please discuss any site restrictions during the planning stage.
What information do you need to provide a quote?
To help us provide an accurate quotation, we’ll usually need:
- Site location
- Number and size of forecourt areas
- Areas requiring cleaning
- Information on gullies, drainage systems or interceptors
- Access arrangements
- Site operating hours
- Any specific concerns or operational restrictions
Do you provide documentation suitable for audits and compliance records?
Yes. We provide documentation relating to the works completed, including clearance certificates where applicable, along with any relevant waste documentation for materials removed from site.
Is this service suitable for domestic driveways or patios?
No. Our forecourt cleaning services are designed specifically for commercial and industrial environments such as petrol stations, forecourt retail sites, transport depots and operational vehicle facilities.
What happens to the wastewater produced during forecourt cleaning?
Forecourt wastewater is collected and transported to an appropriate CSG treatment facility. Oil is separated and recovered where suitable; the water phase is treated to reduce contamination, and silt or solids are assigned an authorised treatment or disposal route.
Can forecourt cleaning and interceptor emptying be completed together?
CSG can coordinate surface cleaning with gully clearance and interceptor emptying, subject to the agreed scope of work. Combining the services can reduce disruption and help ensure that both the visible forecourt and its supporting drainage infrastructure are properly maintained.
How is waste from a fuel spill managed?
Spilt fuel is normally captured using sand or other absorbent material and kept separate from routine forecourt wastewater. Highly flammable fuel and contaminated absorbents require assessment and an appropriate disposal route; they cannot be sent through CSG’s standard oil treatment process for recovery.
